• Good understanding of English
• School certificate or equivalent (Grade 10)
• 18 years of age
• Must have a valid USI
• Reading and Writing Skills (L) – ACSF Level 3/4
• Oral Communication skills (L) – ACSF Level 4
• Numeracy and Mathematics skills (N) – ACSF Level 3

Total number of units = 18

15 core units plus
3 elective units, of which:

• At least 2 must come from the prescribed list.
• if not listed below, 1 unit may be from any currently endorsed Training Package at Certificate III level or above OR any accredited course at Certificate III level.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.

All students must complete a minimum of 120 hours of work experience in a regulated aged care facility to be deemed competent for this qualification.

Duration is dependent on training delivery mode, individual experience and skills. Students are required to complete a volume of learning of 1450 hours comprising of guided learning, individual study, assessments and work placement. Generally the course will take anywhere between 5 months and a year to complete.

Blended – combination of face to face and distance learning (Sydney only)

Below are the details of the fee related to CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support is

$1600 if paid up front

• Please note that Care Education and Training services will not accept more than $1500 in prepaid fees from students. Therefore students who pay  $1500 up front will be covered under our payment schedule agreement policy , however they will not be required to pay an installment fee.

• Diploma level programs from the CHC Training Package

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows a person to receive recognition and credit for the knowledge and skills they have, no matter how and where they were attained, including overseas. This can include skills from previous study, work experience and life experience.

Care Education has an obligation to recognise Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other registered training organisations

The course will be presented in competency-based mode and the student’s competency will be assessed at all levels according to competencies and performance criteria. The training package for each competency specifies the conditions and method of assessment. Assessment methods range from completing set tasks and activities, class attendance and participation and completion of assignments / projects.
